Families spend an average of $12,000 per year per child on child care. In a groundbreaking move in November 2025, New Mexico became the first state in the country to offer Universal Child Care. K2MD had the honor of helping the New Mexico Early Childhood Education & Care Department get the word out to New Mexico families that no-cost child care would now extend to all households, regardless of income. This landmark investment lays the groundwork for family security, a thriving workforce, and a future-ready early learning system that sets the standard nationwide.

One thousand families enrolled in the program on its first day, while 5,000 families enrolled during its first two weeks. K2MD is proud to partner with the NM Early Childhood Education & Care Department to help uplift our state.
